Waterlase Dental Laser

The laser removes decayed tooth structure much faster than healthy tooth structure.  This means, unlike the drill which removes everything in its path, that the laser removes much less healthy tooth.  This means the tooth is left much stronger with less chance of future problems.

The laser is much safer for the patient than the dental drill spinning at 600,000 rpm.  It's practically impossible to accidentally injure a patient's lip, tongue or cheek with the laser.  After all, they're safe for your eyes, one of the most sensitive and fragile parts of the human body.

There is preliminary evidence that laser treatment actually hardens the tooth surface and kills decay causing germs, making it more resistant to tooth decay. The laser makes white fillings and sealants stick tighter to the tooth.  This means they can last longer and be more resistant to tooth decay.

Since shots are not required, treatment can be faster and in multiple areas of the mouth. Oral and gum surgery and root canal treatments have minimal swelling, bleeding, pain and virtually no infection.  Treatment of gum disease is also possible.  No scalpels, no stitches, and in most cases no shots.

Since kids don't leave from their appointments with numbness, there is no chance they will accidentally bite their lip or tongue.
