She continued her professional studies at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, where she graduated with honors, receiving a DMD with magna cum laude.

Dr. Bush is a Nashville native and a third-generation alumnus of Trevecca Nazarene University. Before attending Meharry Medical School of Dentistry, where he earned an honors degree in dental surgery and was asked to continue as an instructor in the prosthodontics department, he briefly taught science in high school.
